ADC PICKS RT. HON. CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI AS ATIKU’S RUNNING MATE. The National Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), after extensive consultations with party leaders, coalition partners, youth and women stakeholders, and representatives of all geopolitical zones, is proud to announce that the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been selected as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of our great party for the 2027 Presidential Election. This recommendation follows the successful conclusion of the ADC Presidential Primaries, in which Rt. Hon. Amaechi emerged as the runner-up, earning widespread support from party members across the federation and demonstrating his enduring appeal as one of Nigeria's most experienced and respected political leaders. The proposed partnership between His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi represents more than a political alliance; it is the coming together of two tested statesmen with the experience, national reach, and leadership capacity required to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges and reposition the country for a new era of prosperity, security, and inclusive development. Rt. Hon. Amaechi brings to this ticket one of the most comprehensive public service records in contemporary Nigerian politics. His experience spans all major pillars of democratic governance. He served with distinction as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, making him one of the longest-serving legislative leaders in Nigeria's Fourth Republic. He subsequently served two terms as Governor of Rivers State, where he oversaw significant investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and public sector reforms. At the national level, he served as Minister of Transportation, leading some of the most ambitious transportation and rail modernization initiatives in Nigeria's history. Few political leaders in Nigeria today possess such extensive and balanced experience across both the legislative and executive arms of government. This depth of experience will be invaluable in supporting the next ADC administration from day one. Beyond his impressive credentials, Rt. Hon. Amaechi strengthens the ticket strategically. His political influence across the South-South and wider Southern Nigeria, his reputation as a reform-minded administrator, and his proven ability to build coalitions across political, ethnic, and regional lines make him uniquely positioned to complement the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar. Together, Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi embody a truly national ticket—one that bridges regions, generations, and political traditions. Their combined experience in governance, economic management, public administration, party organization, and nation-building offers Nigerians a credible and compelling alternative capable of restoring confidence in government and accelerating national development. At a time when millions of Nigerians are demanding competent leadership, economic revival, job creation, security, and national unity, the Atiku-Amaechi ticket sends a clear message: the ADC is prepared to govern, prepared to unite the nation, and prepared to deliver results. The leadership of the ADC is confident that this partnership will energize our growing coalition, inspire hope among Nigerians, and provide the leadership necessary to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Federal Republic of Nigeria. The ADC therefore calls on all party members, coalition partners, civil society organizations, youth groups, women leaders, and Nigerians of goodwill to join us as we embark on this historic journey to renew our nation and secure a better future for generations to come. Signed: Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi National Publicity Secretary African Democratic Congress (ADC)

I have told many people that Senator Kwankwaso cannot comfortably remain in any political party where he does not enjoy total control, particularly over the Kano State party structure. This was one of the major reasons he left the APC in 2018, despite the fact that there was arguably no better political platform available for him to advance his ambition. For Kwankwaso, maintaining complete dominance over the party machinery in Kano has always been a non-negotiable priority.

Kwankwaso Threatens to Leave NDC if His Candidates Are Replaced as Party Insists on 60/40 The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano State over an alleged breach of a power-sharing agreement according to report by Dailypost. According to a document signed by Kano State NDC Chairman, Hon. Hussaini Isah Mairiga, the changes were made to reflect the earlier agreement on the distribution of party positions and elective tickets between the existing NDC structure and the Kwankwasiyya bloc. The document was copied to National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson, Kwankwasiyya leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the NDC North-West Zonal Chairman. Under the revised list, the party approved the following for Federal Constituencies: • Barrister Isma’il Idris Sani – Kumbotso • Nasiru Ali Ahmed – Nassarawa • Kabiru Ishaq Sa’id – Kano Municipal • Barrister Dayyabu Jamilu Ibrahim – Doguwa/Tudun Wada • Muhammad Hamisu Abubakar – Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado/Tofa • Ibrahim Bashir Bango – Sumaila/Takai • Abdulmajid Isa Umar Mairigar Fata – Gwale Adjustments were also made to State House of Assembly tickets in Dala, Tarauni, Kumbotso, Ungogo, and Dawakin Kudu constituencies. The NDC explained that there was a standing agreement for elective positions and party offices to be shared on a 60-40 basis, with the Kwankwasiyya bloc receiving 60% and the original party structure retaining 40%.

He’s not wrong, the previous Hausa leaders weren’t saints. They were oppressing the common folk and had isolated themselves from the masses we were regressing and became a shell of what we once were. That’s one of the reasons Dan Fodio was successful.
Bakaki@niggergerian

Whatever they are today is a direct product of the jihad, so it's not totally wrong to ascribe them to it. You'll be talking to a grown ass uninformed Hausa person about leadership and they'll look at you an say "ai Fulani aka sani da mulki, shi bahaushe sai kasuwanci", why do

PRESS STATEMENT! ‘You were once my boy too’—Ganduje replies Kwankwaso. The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared that Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso was once his political boy too, saying there is no need for politicians to distort history or reduce long-standing political relationships to “boy-master” narratives. Ganduje, who is currently in the Holy Land for the Hajj pilgrimage, stated this while reacting to recent comments credited to Kwankwaso, in a statement issued on his behalf by his Chief of Staff, Comrade Muhammad Garba, on Friday. Responding to the remarks, the former Kano State governor said politics is built on relationships, support, sacrifice and mentorship, stressing that every major politician has benefitted from one form of assistance or another in the course of his political journey. According to the statement, Ganduje recalled that he was among the politicians who supported Kwankwaso’s early political rise, particularly during the National Assembly election that eventually saw him emerge as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. “At that time, Ganduje could confidently have referred to Kwankwaso as his political boy, having supported him morally, financially and stood by him during that period,” the statement said. . The statement further recalled that even before then, when Ganduje was serving as a senior civil servant in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and later as Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in Kano state, Kwankwaso used to visit his offices in Abuja and Kano and sometimes waited for hours to see him. “It is therefore unnecessary and immaterial for leaders to introduce such narratives into contemporary political discussions, especially at a time when citizens expect attention to be focused on governance and progressive politics,” the statement added. Ganduje also revisited the political events leading to the 1998 gubernatorial primaries in Kano State, stating that many politicians and stakeholders at the time were aware that he won the contest. However, according to the statement, senior political figures and elders, some of whom are still alive, prevailed on him to step down in the interest of unity and accept to serve as deputy governorship candidate alongside Kwankwaso. The former governor noted that despite those political developments, both men went on to work together successfully as governor and deputy governor from 1999 to 2003 and again from 2011 to 2015 as friends, political associates and partners committed to the development of Kano State. He further noted that while Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf once served as Kwankwaso’s Personal Assistant, he is today the duly elected governor of Kano State and deserves the respect and dignity of the office he occupies, including from his former political associates. “Politics should not be about who is superior to the other. A father can nurture a child who eventually becomes greater in status and influence. That is the natural progression of leadership and human relationships,” the statement quoted Ganduje as saying. He urged political actors in Kano State to avoid divisive comments and focus on issues capable of promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and development in the state. The former APC National Chairman also called on supporters across political divides to remain calm and avoid inflammatory reactions over the recent exchanges between political leaders in the state. Gawuna won’t realize how lucky he is if he wins the Senatorial election there is no defeating Abba, and even if there is, Comrade doesn’t stand a chance sadly people have no reason to vote Abba out, he is a decent leader, Kwankwasiyya cult can do whatever they want but Abba is going back to the government house Kwankwaso is just setting Comrade up for failure sadly, and Kwankwaso hardly rewards you for failure, he will just continue using you while he makes deals with the government without remembering you
