Because it’s a scene that much like a lot of Snyder’s stuff is way too over the top, also part of what makes Pa’s death by heart attack tragic is because it imparts a bitter lesson that Clark can’t save everyone

You make a good point. Superman literally has someone else stopping every major threat in a movie called Superman.
The only threat Superman stopped on his own were Raptors & The Engineer. I like the movie but the supporting characters are actually the ones who save the day.
