Bandits Strike Oyo Communities Again: One Dead in Kishi Attack, Deputy Governor Visits as Security Worsens Suspected bandits launched attacks around the Igbeti-Kishi Old Oyo Reserve and the Igbeti-Igboho axis, leaving at least one person dead. The attacks occurred on Friday, June 12, and continued into Saturday, with heavily armed men dressed in military camouflage opening fire on travellers. In the Friday attack, an electricity distribution worker, Mr. Kayode, was shot dead along the Kishi-Igbeti road . The vehicle he was travelling in was returning from picking up a pilgrim who had just completed the 2026 Hajj exercise when armed men emerged from the forest and opened fire. A second attack took place on Saturday afternoon along the Igbope-Igbeti section of the road. Armed men in military-style uniforms ambushed motorists, targeting a red Volkswagen Golf saloon car and a commercial passenger bus. Four occupants of the Golf car sustained serious gunshot injuries, including the driver, Alhaji Rafiu Jimoh, and Mr. Jubril Jelili . The victims managed to drive back to Igboho for emergency treatment. The Deputy Governor of Oyo State visited Kishi to assess the security situation in the affected areas, including Kishi and Igboho. Residents are demanding immediate, sustained tactical military and police deployments to clear the forest reserves of criminal elements who are using the vast terrain as a base for their operations . The Old Oyo National Park, located between Kishi and Igbeti, has become a haven for bandits. The abducted schoolchildren and teachers from the Oriire Local Government Area are currently being held hostage deep within the park . The forest corridor has become a major infiltration route for armed groups fleeing military operations in the North . The Oyo State Government has procured an aircraft for surveillance and recruited Amotekun personnel to ensure peace in the state. The Deputy Governor previously urged local government council chairmen in the Oke-Ogun zone to collaborate with the state government to frustrate terrorist acts . Despite these efforts, incidents of kidnapping, armed robbery, and banditry continue to occur in the area .

Nigeria under Tinubu is the only country where known terrorists kills serving and retired generals regularly with no consequences. Ponder on this.

To my Yoruba people listen For too long, others pushed false narratives, distorted our history, and spread prejudice against us. Many of us decided that silence was no longer an option. We stepped forward, challenged misinformation, defended our heritage, and pushed back against those narratives. The result is clear, many of those falsehoods no longer go unchallenged, and the narrative has already begun to change. But our work is not finished. Let us do even more. Let us learn our history, share our achievements, support our own people, and continue correcting misinformation wherever we find it. We are more than capable of defending our legacy and telling our story with confidence. No one will protect our image better than us. No one will preserve our history better than us. Stay united. Stay informed. Stay proud. The progress we’ve made proves that our voices matter, and together, we can achieve even more💪💪💪💪

See this crazy stat: 1. Nigeria has over 300 ethnic groups 2. 100 prisoners were transferred to Nigeria 3. All the criminals are from only 1 ethnic group out of the 300+ 4. That ethnic group is not even the largest in the country. Then someone will say crime has no tribe?

@Haybell0453 @OOlusore No bros. All those ungrateful Oyo state people championing APC and abusing Gov Seyi Makinde need to learn. At least let them taste APC government and compare with that of Gov Seyi Makinde.

What if not everyone wearing a police uniform on election day is actually a police officer? In this eye-opening conversation, our guest shares his personal account of how political actors allegedly used fake police uniforms to intimidate voters during elections. He also reveals how he became involved in this matter at a young age. The discussion delves into allegations of election manipulation, political intimidation, and the hidden tactics that can erode public trust in the democratic process. Have you ever witnessed anything unusual during an election?

The Muslim who treats you at the hospital is not a terrorist. The Muslim who teaches your children is not a terrorist. The Muslim who serves you in a shop is not a terrorist. The Muslim who drives your taxi is not a terrorist. The Muslim who lives next door is not a terrorist. The overwhelming majority of Muslims are ordinary people trying to live their lives. Judge people by their actions, not by their religion.

Spent the past few days off the internet with my shoes off, physically touching grass in the East African wilderness. P.s: The Allen's Swamp monkey on my shoulder in the first photo is apparently named 'Super Mario'. No idea why, but he was a lot of fun. Back to real life👋🏾

@MasterMaliq @Jamil_jadon Stop being foolish. The difference between Muslims are only cultural difference. As a yoruba Muslim I am different from fulani Muslim because yorubas do t have a terrorist extremist culture like u fulanis. Muslims ain't the same. Fulani Muslims nor same as yoruba Muslims

@Jamil_jadon If anyone funds terrorism, they should be investigated and prosecuted, no matter who they are. But you don’t turn that into guilt for every Muslim. That’s not justice, it’s assumption.
