Growing up, saving didn’t feel like a lesson. It felt like a quiet habit life forced on us. Instead of spending it all at once, I would tuck some away inside old containers, piggy banks, or even hidden corners of our rooms. It wasn’t always about discipline; sometimes it was about uncertainty. You never knew when you’d need it. Parents and elders would often say things like, “keep something for tomorrow,” even if today felt enough. And slowly, that mindset stuck. Saving became less about how much you had and more about learning patience-waiting, resisting small temptations and understanding that little amounts can grow into something meaningful. For someone like me , those early habits shaped how i see money today: not just as something to spend, but something to manage, protect and prepare for the future. I have shared my story on this app countless times on how it took me 6years to save 1,000,000.00 Naira . It wasn’t an easy process but I did it anyway. It wasn’t perfect, still gave in to cravings sometimes but that childhood experience quietly taught me one of life’s most valuable lessons.You don’t need plenty to start saving, you just need the habit.
