Ayer me pasó algo similar. Comí al lado del estadio y una familia Bosnia de cuatro personas, que iban al partido, me ayudaron a hablar con la camarera, que no sabía inglés. Al acabar, cuando iba a pagar, el padre se levantó y me lo impidió. Pagó él la cuenta. 💙

Forza Bosnia. I really need to tell you what has just happened. Breakfast at cafe with colleague before going to airport. It’s quiet around, day after partying. We are done and one moment before standing up to go paying, a 60-years old man suddenly pops up from nowhere, quickly grabs our check and goes to counter. At first I don’t understand, I think he wants to tease us. Then he starts chatting with waitress and pulls out a roll of notes while she smiles. I ask him “What? What are you doing?”. He smiles nodding and keeps paying, saying something in Bosnian and then “No no no”. I tell him “Why? But why?”. He winks “Ok ok” while all waitresses now smiles. Again I say “You don’t. You don’t have to”. And then I lean to him and I hug him and we pat on shoulders. As he leaves I ask him “But tell me your name”. And he goes “Italia Italia, it’s ok” and walks away. 60 years old, a face that looked toughened by life and hard work. Who knows what he saw when he was 30 in Bosnia. Who knows what Italy was for him, when the Italian soldiers came to Bosnia to help, when Italy came to play in Bosnia on September 1996. How long it takes for us to witness every day a pure act of kindness? How better life can be with kindness? Hvala Bosnia. Have a joyous World Cup

Prije 10-ak godina sam proveo semestar razmjene na Univerzitetu Ondokuz Mayıs u Samsunu, na sjeveru Turske. Jedan profesor mi je na usmenom ispitu podrugljivo postavio slično pitanje: zašto Bosanci ne uče turski, s obzirom koliko Turska ulaže u BiH. Rekao sam mu... 1/2

Esasen Bosna-Hersek'te Türkçe öğrenmeyen Boşnak kardeşlerimize neden Türkçe öğrenmiyorsunuz diye sormak gerekiyor. Bosna-Hersek, Türkiye'nin devlet kurumlarıyla en çok faaliyet gösterdiği ilk 3 ülkeden biri. Özel sektörün de önemli yatırımları var. Bosna-Hersek'in ve de özellikle Boşnak toplumunun en çok etkileşim içinde yer aldığı toplumlardan biri Türkler ve Türkiye devleti. Saraybosna ve Mostar başta olmak üzere her yıl ülkeye akın eden on binlerce Türk'ü de unutmamak gerekiyor. Yüzlerce yıllık arka plan ve bağımsızlıktan beri süre gelen ilişkilerde göz önünde bulundurulduğunda Boşnak toplumunda Türkçe bilme oranının daha yüksek olması beklenirdi.

@ex_professor_ Za jedan semestar se ne može u potpunosti naučiti nijedan narod i nijedna zemlja. Nije to ni poenta moga tvita. Međutim, za to vrijeme se mogu razbiti predrasude i iz prve ruke barem upoznati kultura, ljudi i običaju.

@SamBeharic Jedan semestar je premalo da bilo sta naucis o Turcima. Ja sam ih „odradio“ 12 (prvih 8 na „19. Mayis“-u“) i jos 56 semestara 😀, koliko se druzim i radim s njima… i opet ih ne poznajem. Kompleksam je to narod.

Isti profesor me je, ništa manje provokativno, na završnom usmenom ispitu upitao: „Koga više cijeniš: vašeg Aliju [Izetbegovića] ili našeg vođu?”, pritom pokazujući prstom na portret Kemal Paše Atatürka koji mu je visio u uredu iznad glave. Ta diskusija je potrajala, jer… 1/3
