The king rode out, made promises, then broke every one of them. The leaders were hunted down and executed. But serfdom never recovered. Without a single law. Without a king declaring it so. Over the next hundred years it quietly collapsed. The English simply stopped accepting it. By 1500 it was dead. Three hundred years before France. Nearly four hundred before Russia. Hang on. I get it. McSweeney's stolen phone wasn't an issue for the police as it was his "personal" phone rather than his work phone. The fact that his vetting messages were on that phone show he was doing state business on his personal phone. Pretty sure he's violated about twenty rules. And anyone in government who messaged him on government business on his personal phone will also, inadvertently, have fallen foul of the rules. McSweeney's mobile phone, when found, will show him doing government business, knowingly, using comms channels that are illegal for someone in his role.

Remember when we were promised a bonfire of 4,000 EU laws? Badenoch quietly turned it into a scented candle – about 600 actually revoked, the rest neatly “assimilated” into UK law. Now Starmer is lighting it again with 76 new laws back in from Brussels. Some “Brexit freedom”.

Grundsatz des Rechtsstaats ist die Gewaltenteilung. Die Exekutive bricht diesen Grundsatz mit den von einer Bürokratencamarilla verfügten "Sanktionen", die existenzvernichtenden Strafcharakter haben, obwohl nicht einmal der Vorwurf einer Straftat im Raume steht. Selbst einem Mordverdächtigen könnte nicht das Existenzminimum entzogen werden, geschweige denn die Familie in Sippenhaft genommen werden! Dieses Handeln ist daher evident grundgesetzwidrig und stellt nicht weniger dar als einen Versuch, das Rechtsstaatsprinzip zu beseitigen.

Is Tusk arguing that the EU must now control who elected governments can and cannot talk to? One I don’t think Poles would agree to themselves.. Whoever decides to call Washington after a Council meeting, or Beijing, or Delhi, Tokyo or Ankara, or any country for that matter, that is their business, surely? Tusk and his allied EU-fanatics have already brought the European economy to its knees, ruined Europe’s standing in the world, and reduced the EU to a simple observer of world events. They now appear to want to bring the last govts resisting their federalising and incompetent rule to heel.

Starmer : "we've only been in power 18 months, so haven't had time to sort out defence expenditure". He's had plenty of time, however, to commit £22bn to pointless carbon capture, £6bn to support "green" projects, overseas, and God knows how much to Ukraine 🙄

@Telegraph The 2019 FTA already gives the UK access to the Single Market. Starmer not only has no mandate for this, the 2024 Labour manifesto specifically ruled out a formal return to the SM. He now proposes to restore the primacy of EU law: in due course, he should face prosecution.
