LA City Council just delayed SB 79, the state law that would've allowed 9-story buildings near transit. Instead we're getting 4-story max in 55 zones. We have the lowest construction starts in 13 years and local govt is actively working to contain it further.

Can't explain how happy I'd be if Raman wins the LA mayoral race. Five years ago it felt like socialist yimbyism was a niche within a niche that mostly existed on twitter. Now it seems completely possible the two largest cities in the US will have socialist yimby mayors.

Pres Trump told me tonight the US had identified possible candidates to take over Iran, but they were killed in the initial attack.
