The sad part about this is these people aren't trolling. They legitimately believe the earth is flat and will justify that belief in any way they can. I wish I was joking, but I've seen them do their thing for over 15 years now, since I was in High School... even after some of their own were taken to Antarctica 2 years ago and were convinced that the earth was not flat, flat earthers have continued the grift because when you are stuck in a delusion like that, it's near impossible to break out.

@X_Stress_test @MaskedTsosti @CryptoWhale No, even if that was my argument. LEO is between 1000km and 160km. The ISS cruises at an altitude between 370–460km. Not all satellites orbit at that altitude though. Still, its the equivalent of photographing bugs from 300ft off the ground, and even that's being generous.

The camera that took this picture, a Hasselblad, was not protected in any way from solar radiation. The moon unlike Earth is in direct intense sunlight as it has no atmosphere or magnetosphere. The Kodak film would have been destroyed… this picture could not have been taken on the moon.
