Also, OG Magneto was still pretty extremist pre-retirement. He believed mutants were superior, but didnโt want humanity wiped outโhe wanted to turn humans into mutants, thinking itโd benefit them, regardless of whether the powers were weak or destructive.

As for the original Joseph, heโd actually stay a good guy, and itโs later revealed that he and the new Magneto (who named himself โMagnusโ after his โfatherโsโ middle name) are actually the twin clone โsonsโ of the original Magneto.

I was thinking of something similar with my AU:
Magneto 1 is the one we all know; heโs tragic but still becomes an extremist trying to rule humanity or turn them into Mutants. However, heโs stopped at the last second during his darkest act and realizes the monster heโs become.

However, Magneto 2 is someone who looked up to Magneto in the past, but thought he didnโt go far enough and that he became โweakโ. This new Magneto seeks to โcompleteโ his namesakeโs mission, and would be a mix of Ultimate Magneto and Joseph during his villain arcs.
