Yellowhammer News is 100% correct — I have a reputation for challenging the status quo in Montgomery, kicking over anthills, and rooting out waste, fraud, and the abuse of taxpayer dollars wherever it exists. It’s what you elected me to do, and it’s a job that I take very seriously. While I appreciate being ranked as one of Alabama’s 50 most powerful and influential officials, the power and influence belongs to you, not me. You made it possible by electing me, and I fight every day to make our already great Baldwin County even better. yellowhammernews.com/2026-power-inf…

Former Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack has endorsed Alabama State Sen. Chris Elliott (R‑Josephine) in his bid for re-election for Senate District 32, lending his support ahead of the May 19 primary election. The endorsement marks a significant show of support as Hoss Mack endorses Chris Elliott in one of Baldwin County’s closely watched Republican primary contests. In a video message released publicly, @hoss_mack encouraged voters to support @SenatorElliott for another term representing Baldwin County in Montgomery. “I’m Sheriff Hoss Mack, asking you to join me in supporting Chris Elliott for a new term in the State Senate,” Mack said. “We sent Chris to the Capitol with a mission to stand tall for Baldwin County.” Mack pointed to Elliott’s work securing funding and representing the district’s interests as reasons for his endorsement. I was honored to speak with the Alabama Policy Institute's Board of Director's this week. API is widely regarded as the authority on conservative issues in Alabama and, just like me, they aggressively advocate for free markets, limited government, and strong families. Thanks @alabamapolicy for the invitation.

.@SenatorElliott on Wednesday announced his opposition to a proposed 4,500-acre solar energy complex in Stockton, joining a growing wave of local resistance to the project. The solar farms are being developed by Nashville-based Silicon Ranch to power Meta’s data center under construction south of Montgomery. The two facilities, known as Stockton I and Stockton II, would generate a combined 260 megawatts of electricity purchased by Alabama Power under 25-year agreements. All output is contracted to Dotier LLC, a Meta subsidiary. Though the project falls in an adjoining Senate district, Elliott said Baldwin County needs to present a unified front. “I passed legislation to ban mud dumping in Mobile Bay in order to protect the environment that makes Baldwin County such a special place to live, and for that same reason, I oppose the proposed solar energy complex in Stockton,” Elliott said. “While the project is not located in my Senate district, it is important for all of Baldwin County to stand tall together when our communities feel threatened and the public’s voices are not being heard by the bureaucrats in Montgomery.” Read full story here: yellowhammernews.com/state-sen-chri… #Alabama #ALPolitics #BaldwinCounty #Stockton #DataCenters

Last week, State Rep. Greg Barnes introduced HB363 to make disrupting a worship service a felony under Alabama law, on the heels of the recent disruption of a worship service by anti-ICE protesters in Minnesota, where they targeted the pastor for his service as a local ICE field office director. And now, he has a supporter upstairs in the Alabama Senate, @SenatorElliott, who announced his role in moving the bill forward this week. “We don’t need the mess in Minnesota invading Alabama. I’m looking forward to handling this important legislation for Rep. Barnes in the Senate and I’m honored that he’s asked me to do so,” Elliott wrote. On Tuesday, the Alabama House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed HB181, a measure aimed at limiting the disposal of dredged material in Mobile Bay while maintaining dredging operations critical to the Port of Mobile and Alabama’s coastal economy. The bill, sponsored by State Rep. @RhettForAlabama (R-Enterprise), will restrict the practice of thin-layer dredge disposal, commonly referred to as “mud dumping,” while allowing continued dredging to keep the shipping channel navigable. Then on Wednesday morning, the bill also cleared the Alabama Senate County and Municipal Government committee. Upstairs in the Alabama Senate, where it is expected receive a similar reception, @SenatorElliott (R-Josephine) is carrying the bill.
