The internet runs on speed, Payments settle instantly, services are automated, and now AI agents are executing tasks on their own. But when something goes wrong, dispute resolution hasn’t kept up, and that gap is becoming critical. As more value and coordination move onchain, disagreements are inevitable. Data can be wrong, tasks can fail, outcomes can be disputed. The default path is still traditional courts, but that model breaks in this environment. It’s slow, expensive, geographically bound, and not designed for things like onchain logs or API outputs. Add cross-border friction and most disputes simply go unresolved. That creates a deeper problem. Systems that can’t resolve disputes can’t sustain trust, and without trust, automated coordination doesn’t scale. This is the gap Internet Court is addressing. internetcourt.org proposes a dispute resolution framework built for digital systems rather than adapted from traditional ones. Instead of long legal arguments, disputes are structured into clear, machine-readable claims, backed by verifiable data like execution logs or performance metrics. These claims are evaluated through a transparent process where AI-assisted reasoning and validators converge on outcomes that can integrate with onchain systems. Resolution moves at the speed of execution, not months after the fact. The agent era makes this necessary. When autonomous systems transact and coordinate, failure is not rare, it’s constant. If resolution still depends on slow human processes, it becomes the bottleneck for the entire system. Execution is already solved, Resolution is not. Internet Court is an attempt to make it native to the internet.
