@sabeer Sir, competition would hv still promoted competence nd eventually cooperation.
Kids here have to fight - not compete on a fair and equitable basis
English

Someone suggested I bring my kids to India to experience “competitive” kite flying, where the goal is to cut down other people’s kites using sharp threads.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I’d rather teach my children cooperation than competition that rewards hurting others. The challenges of the 21st century will be solved by people working together, not by finding more creative ways to cut each other down.

@prabhakarkudva Sir, points 3 & 4 are the toughest - how long is the 'long holding period' nd what if the business runs into disruption after one has held thru years of neglect
I know thr's no silver bullet for these bt ny idea hw to manage it apart frm pf nd asset allocation
English

A framework to get you to a 50-100 bagger stock.
What it takes:
1. Small/Mid starting market cap - so that there is enough scope for the market cap to expand.
2. Institution worthy but under-owned by institutions - Secular multi year growth catalyst + scope for persistent buying over months and years
3. Neglect (during hold period) - not a mainstream idea - often they don't believe in it till the last one-third phase - ability to hold against consensus is the edge
4. Long Holding period - huge gains are made only if you’re willing to hold the positions for years and decades and have an aversion to selling or booking profits.
5. Drawdown - methodology to ignore 50-90% drawdowns. I don’t say ability to stomach as one can’t really stomach it. It essentially comes down to not even looking at it or avoiding calculating your returns or drawdowns. Vision helps (covered below).
6. Allocation - Just the right starting allocation (typically small enough) that you never feel the pinch even if it goes wrong and you can continue to hold on for as long as it takes
7. Vision - to see the big picture and the larger trend and not be bothered by events in the interim.
This in no way means one should follow this approach - there are many ways to make it work in the markets - but just to understand that this is what it takes.

Suhel Seth wrote a wonderful article on Indians. My take on it -
A superb article. The problem is not money, infrastructure, or GDP. It is a lack of values.
Indians got rich faster than they got civilized. We built airports, malls, gated communities, and expressways - but forgot to build respect, courtesy, and consideration for others.
A nation’s character is revealed not by its tallest skyscraper, but by whether its people stand in line, refrain from littering, respect public spaces, and treat strangers with dignity.
Development without values is merely wealth wrapped around disorder.
English

@Dimpzudhani Depending on one's definition Yes. Happiness nd peace r sort of state of mind thngs
Money nd success r subjective\relative barometers

@suru27 TPL plastech - one of Time Technoplast's subsidiary also in the same biz nd roughly same valuation. Capex tailwinds vl benefit both - How do u choose one over the another in these cases?
English

Is "Pyramid" a drum maker? The next 3–5 years are going to be valued on IBC volume , which sits downstream of every new chemicals plant coming up.
That reframes Pyramid as a proxy play on the chemicals-capex theme, not a generic packaging stock.
Inside Pyramid Technoplast, the product to track isn't drums -it's IBCs.⤵️

@saaiyer Thanks for the inputs.
Btw, Tried black coffee also in the interim period - m sort of coffee addict - That streches 12 hr headache to 14-15 hrs.
Vl go for ur salt+water suggestion now
English

12 hours is a default window. And sleeping includes that.
Start with 12 and slowly push by an hour. Headaches feeling low initially are normal. Consume water with a pinch of salt. Slow and steady.
But the most important thing is before u start a fasting practice, try not eating between meals. Get rid of junk food and refined carbs.
Hope this helps.
English

It is a mental game! And once you master it, there is no going back.
To those who say its just a way to restrict calories, yes it is. But thats such a low level benefit.
The bigger benefit is that your relationship with hunger changes, forever!
Sabeer Bhatia@sabeer
People often ask me, "Isn't fasting hard?" My answer: It's the easiest thing in the world. I've done it 15 times. The hardest part isn't fasting - it's overcoming the belief that you need to eat all the time. Once you realize that hunger comes in waves and passes, fasting becomes more of a mental exercise than a physical one.

@Sanjay__Bakshi Sir, weren't catalysts an edge in previous era when information was the edge?
Nowadays any immediate catalysts do get priced in instantly.
Longer term catalysts\trends r little tougher to detect bt that again goes bk as wide moat expanding type of investing. Isn't it?
English

A cheap stock without a catalyst is a value trap plus a prayer for a bull market. (That is chasing beta)
youtu.be/F5DlwZZuNQY
The most common catalysts are earnings growth when combined with very low P/E multiples plus a high dividend yield. Doesn’t happen very often but a setup like this must result in stock price appreciation otherwise the yields start exceeding bond yields which by themselves are catalysts for re-rating.
There are many other catalysts based on developments inside the company (corporate actions) or developments in markets (eg increase in free float, inclusion in an index etc).
This will be the central idea in my upcoming revised program on case studies in business and investment analysis at Flame Investment Lab.

Finally somebody in Bollywood gathered the spine to show reality & spark a conversation society has conveniently buried for years - the silent destruction countless men are enduring behind closed doors because of false accusations !!!
We have normalised mocking male suffering to such an extent that the moment a man speaks about emotional abuse, false accusations, legal harassment, depression, social humiliation or mental breakdowns, he is instantly ridiculed, dismissed, or told to “man up.”
Since when did empathy become conditional? Since when did justice become gender-specific? And the most horrifying part? Even if an innocent man eventually proves his innocence, society never apologises.
The trauma remains.
The humiliation remains.
The damage remains.
Sometimes, the man himself does not
This is why a movie like #Bandar is so so important!
