@Melhabtu No, I don't think so. We were not looking for one, in the first place.

#Ethiopiaโs right to sea access must advance with โdiplomatic, legal clarityโ: National Security Council
Ethiopiaโs National Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and composed of senior army, police, and intelligence officials, said the countryโs diplomatic and legal efforts to secure access to the sea must continue with โthe clarity and direction already established.โ In a statement released after its meeting on Tuesday, the Council described sea access as central to โsafeguarding national interestsโ and emphasized that the initiatives launched to assert this right should be pursued through โdiplomatic, legal, and peacefulโ means. It also praised Ethiopiaโs โexpanding diplomatic footprintโ and reaffirmed the government's commitment to โregional integration and peace,โ asserting that Ethiopiaโs approach is aimed at โpromoting stability in the Horn of Africaโ and โresolving conflicts peacefully.โ
At the domestic level, the Council acknowledged ongoing security concerns, particularly in #Amhara and #Oromia regions, where groups โcontinue to pursue their interests through force.โ It said efforts were underway in conflict-affected areas and noted that in #Tigray, while peace remains incomplete, government initiatives have allowed residents to โbegin experiencing relief.โ The Council also accused unnamed โdomestic and foreign actorsโ of attempting to destabilize the country through โviolence, disinformation, and economic sabotage,โ warning that such groups โreject dialogue and negotiationโ and exploit โlegal political platforms for illegal acts.โ A new directive, it said, has been issued to strengthen institutional coordination to โcombat organized economic crimesโ and protect national stability.

"We want to make peace with the #Eritreans," Getachew Reda, President of #Tigray Interim Administration
Getachew Reda, President of the Tigray Interim Administration, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering peaceful relations with Eritrea despite ongoing challenges. "We want to make peace with the Eritreans; war must no longer be an option," he stated during an interview with Avvenire, an Italian daily newspaper, while visiting #Italy for the Cuamm "Doctors with Africa" meeting in Turin.
However, Getachew emphasized the need for an international mechanism to ensure justice, saying, "Negotiations cannot occur without accountability for those accused of violence against civilians and women."
While the Pretoria peace agreement has largely silenced the guns in Tigray, Getachew highlighted that Eritrean troops continue to occupy areas such as Irob. He urged Ethiopia's federal government to fulfill its commitments under the agreement, stating, "The withdrawal of foreign forces is not just a legal obligation; itโs a necessity for lasting peace."
Getachew also addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Tigray, where over a million displaced people remain unable to return home. "The war has devastated agriculture and infrastructure. Many hospitals and schools were destroyed, and rebuilding them will take time," he explained. He acknowledged some progress in restoring services and noted ongoing cooperation with #Addis_Abeba.
Praising Italyโs support, Getachew said, "The work Italy and Cuamm are doing in Tigray, from rebuilding hospitals to supplying medical resources, is exemplary." He called for greater international support to rebuild the region and ensure lasting peace, adding, "We must create a foundation for dialogue and reconciliation."
