Blame foreign people.
And I don't mean Indians and Nigerians. I mean literally anyone who isn't American (or perhaps a few based Canadians).
It happened to 4chan, it happened to KiwiFarms, and it's currently happening to X.
Put a nation flag next to every account name and you'd see it instantly, but foreign zoomers who grow up consuming American media and can communicate using American slang will obfuscate it on the surface.
Then the site culture changes and people want to blame the site or blame autism or blame whatever, but in reality, it's just foreign people expressing their non-American cultures (including and perhaps especially accts from the UK, Europe, and Australia)
British Commonwealth countries have a bizarre obsession with micro-celebrity and it plays out anytime anyone gets the slightest bit of heat on them on the internet.
They just like tearing people down like crabs in a bucket because it's bred into them owing to their lack of social mobility. They are congenitally hopeless people who just want their Two Minutes of Hate.

Kiwi Farms went from "we mess with lolcows" to "we become lolcows ourselves." I understand the obsession with ChrisChan and other lolcows because there's something fundamentally wrong with them, hence the genuine curiosity. But right now Kiwi Farms is going after a random guy who doesn't look weird, doesn't talk weird, just an average boring weeb. In a sense, it's almost exactly like how 4chan went downhill and became diluted as the masses started joining in. This was supposed to be a quote retweet on one of Chibi Review's posts, but he deleted it while I was typing and I don't want to delete this, so ehh.
