[MURDER OF OFF-DUTY JMPD MEMBER UNDER INVESTIGATION]
The police in Orange Farm have opened a case of murder following a shooting incident that occurred at Extension 6A in Orange Farm.
According to preliminary information, it is alleged that an off-duty member of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) was seated inside a motor vehicle with his girlfriend when an unknown number of suspects approached them. The suspects allegedly removed the girlfriend from the vehicle and thereafter shot the JMPD member before fleeing the scene on foot.
He was certified dead on scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation and no arrests have been made at this stage.
