There's been very little coverage of this anti-xenophobia speech in South African media (perhaps due to May 1 holiday). But it's been a sensation across Africa, widely reported in many countries. It has some of the sharpest criticism of anti-foreigner violence ever heard in SA.

You beat people because they took your jobs. You close a shop that hires people. How many have you created after beating and chasing them? Unskilled men, with no skills, none whatsoever, say somebody took away their jobs. I don't want your votes if you behave like that. Take them away. Pushing out of school an African child that looks like you, I will never do that. You can take your votes. Make me die with my conscience very clearly. I will never refuse a pregnant woman of African descent to give birth in the clinics of South Africa. Never!”

The aim of this bill is to reduce the pay disparity that exists between white and black workers. The DA is trying to stop this bill from being passed, just as they opposed the increase of the minimum wage. The DA is an enemy of the black working class. Vote responsibly.

What I credit Julius Malema and the EFF for is speaking out on xenophobia before it reaches a boiling point, not waiting until there are bodies in the streets to suddenly find the courage to condemn it. They do so at a cost to themselves, when it would have been far easier to stay silent and only speak once everyone else does. That proactive voice matters, because it forces other leaders to follow suit and address the issue while it can still be contained..
He is providing leadership at its most critical.

He was working for the DA and was forced to insource those security guards by the EFF that's why Hellen referred to him as an "EFF's mayor" because he was implementing EFF policies. No one fights for the poor like EFF.
