His mugshot went viral after officers used a stun gun and repeatedly struck Williams while he was pinned on the ground. He has hired civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who called the footage “deeply disturbing” and demanded a full investigation into possible excessive force. The case remains under review by the State Attorney’s Office. Williams is due back in court on April 9, where he faces 27 drug-related charges.
