I'm on episode 7 of "The Trials of Winnie Mandela". MaNgutyana says, "I am one of those who want to be reminded of that painful past so that it doesn't happen to my grandchildren...dare I forget!"
She forces us to face this history, to not look away. And to reduce it to 'complexity' actually does injustice to just how plainly unjust the system was. It is unjust to police how she played the hand she was dealt.
