Dropping another post focusing on our spinning top/Beyblade-inspired card game. This post highlights the 4 different spinning top types in the game: Offense, Defense, Stamina, and Balance type. 🧵 #IndieDev #cardgamedesign

For some of you, it won't be a surprise where the inspiration for my spinning top card game came from - the anime Beyblade. I watched the series way back in elementary school and loved it. 🧵

5️⃣ Print on Cardstock (optional) - I like doing this as prep for playtesting with a wider group. Using the card sleeves is great for quick iteration, but the added thickness is bulkier than I like. Cardstock gives a similar to playing card feel without the extra bulkiness.

4️⃣ Playtest & Iterate - after a few solo-play test sessions and sessions with others, I make changes based on the notes I took and repeat.

Here's a quick breakdown of my card game development process. 🧵 1️⃣ Design - I use Canva for the design of my cards and any other components (like tokens) then import the cards as images into Dextrous - a board game design tool used for prototyping.

@bluewulf100 Loved the G-series of Beyblades. The anime as a whole was a huge inspiration for the spinning top card game we've been working on.

The Beyblade card game has Beyblades from the S, V, V2, G, GT, and HMS series as well as some other that were unique to the anime such as the cyber bit beasts or toy specific (i.e. RC, or "Kid Dragoon"). I made some originals as well (Gold Dranzer).

I loved art and drawing as a kid and was originally inspired by anime series like Yugioh and Duel Masters to create some rudimentary card games but the Beyblade one as well as another card game I created alongside it became the mainstays.

@Ridhi_Diaries Using anything for a Beyblade stadium is how it's done 😎

Only real legends remember playing Beyblade battles in a kadai.
