Approximately two-thirds of anaemia cases globally are due to iron deficiency and may represent a modifiable risk factor to reduce the risk of CDH in children born to anaemic mothers.

Oxford researchers, funded by the @TheBHF, have identified iron deficiency anaemia as a high-risk factor for congenital heart disease (CHD). The study also showed risks can be greatly reduced if the mother is given iron supplements early on. Read more⬇️ bit.ly/3v354X4
