Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 star Arty Froushan revealed that Buck Cashman originally didn’t kill Daniel Blake on screen — the shocking headshot was added later with CGI. “When we shot it, Buck points the gun at Blake, but he doesn’t pull the trigger. He spares him and tells him to run away.” Instead, Buck lies to Kingpin, saying he killed him. But the creators later changed it in post. “They CGI’ed me shooting him in the head.” Showrunner Dario Scardapane said once they tested the edit, the room went silent. “They mocked it up really fast, and you could have heard a pin drop in the editing room… like, holy shit.” Michael Gandolfini agreed with the show's creative team that his character's death was the right narrative choice, stating, "If I didn't think it was right, I'd fight you guys... but I was really grateful that they gave Daniel such a respectful goodbye". The actor felt that, after his character's actions in the show's "hateful darkness" arc, it would have been dishonest for him to survive.
