@Chisholm_RC @Grummz I remember vividly that era when Origin released speech packs for their games. Strike Commander on floppy also had that (CD version was included). Origin games were not always easy to run, but they felt really 'powerful' and next gen.

@GOGcom And thank God for that. Sometimes, even with an external drive to play your owned disc games, newer Windows are.... tricky. Sometimes. Or rely on old DX. Or your GPU cannot 'talk' to the older game....

@AyakaMods Thats crazy, lots of creators used to mention they have a patreon with additional contents. Seems Nexus want to gatekeep the donations through them. Its good that alternatives are set up, really.

🚨 JUST NOW 🚨 HobbyR34 just had all of his mods completely removed from NexusMods Nexus staff removed every direct Patreon link mention as they asked. Then Nexus just nuked mods everything because his Twitter links to a Carrd, which links to Patreon. They are now saying even indirect links through your own Twitter count as a violation of their donation rules. This is actually odd. Nexus doesn’t own your personal Twitter or what you put in your own bio/links. Support HobbyR34 for making mods!

@GOGcom I remember spending hours trying to launch Wing Commander 3 (actually, most Origin games) with external floppies, trying different memory configurations. EMS, XMS, etc. Trying different drivers for the mouse to free up additional memory. When it finally worked, it felt so good.

Back in the days, we just played, without worrying that we would have to sell a kidney to purchase new RAM.
