@languageley @doriecp My EdD program is Curriculum & Instruction. There's another option for Ed Leadership, with some courses combined. I've had some leadership/policy sorts of courses but also those that approach it as the teacher as leader.

@doriecp Since it's homecoming week, I'd say the high school version of that is dance duty, float build duty, etc. Students seem genuinely excited to see teachers outside of the school day at "their" thing. (well, some do)

@doriecp I try to plan several days out on Thursdays. That way, I'm usually good through at least Tuesday. *It also helps that our Mondays are late starts for students w/PLC meetings before school, so I can use that time to remind myself.

We have finally changed our profile pic to the NEW SHH logo! We feel this logo is more inclusive of all the cultures that speak Spanish or Portuguese. It even includes the AATSP motto in both languages. (It also better matches the color scheme of the AATSP logo.)

Does anyone have experience with BYU FLATS test? #langchat My child earned the state Seal of Biliteracy & took IB SL, but his college only awards credit for AP or IB HL. Looking at other ways to waive credit and this FLATS test is most affordable.

@emilyhuff717 @mme_wagstaff Exactly. I was going to say legitimize, too. Having an official, required WL assessment helps get us closer to the "core". We have 6-8 days of disrupted schedule for state testing, so WL adds 2 more days.

@mme_wagstaff This doesn’t apply to me because we don’t do that BUT as an elective teacher that spent a lot of PD time over 20 years focused on the core classes’s test data, I imagine the data being professionally legitimizing and more like a “regular” subjects
