Law-abiding citizens will be left utterly defenseless against surging violence in soft targets and against a government with no meaningful check on its power. History is littered with the graves of disarmed populations: once the guns are gone, tyranny fills the vacuum without resistance. Our children will inherit a nation where liberty is a memory, not a birthright. This is not an exaggeration. It is the clear, repeating lesson of human history. That is why we train without apology. That is why we carry daily. That is why we fight every single infringement with everything we have. The 2A is not about muskets or hunting. It is the final firewall that keeps power where it belongs, with We the People. If we let this line fall, we do not lose one right. We surrender the Republic itself. We can not let that happen. If you are a Protestant who feels the need to deride individual Catholics as members of a Satanic cult who are all going to Hell, know this: many Catholics think YOU are the ones going to Hell. In my journey out of and back to the Roman Catholic Church, I spent YEARS in multiple evangelical "Word Churches," and I promise you that the cults of personality that arise in those churches are every bit as evil and ungodly as anything one sees in the Catholic Church. When you go out of your way to demonize people who belong to the Church founded by Jesus Christ in AD 33, you serve only the purposes of Democrats, who viciously seek to create hatred between Christians as a means to regaining political power. Members of Christian denominations need to respect each other's beliefs, or at least not demonize them, because to do otherwise is to do the bidding of Barack Obama and David Axelrod (who created this crisis of faith intentionally).
