@StannisW

I bet on sports for a living, and dabble in crypto in my spare time.

Imo the most difficult thing for founders in crypto is to focus on one thing. Too many founders direct their energy on too many apps/protocols, they should focus on making their product best in its category

@kylienft If you want your buyers to actually feel like they own your work, maybe stop trying to exert so much power over an asset once it's not truly yours anymore? Seems like a reasonable thing if you want people to actually continue to purchase what you're selling.

@StannisW That's eventually where this is leading though. What you're doing is robbing the creative of their ability to say "this is the term of ownership of my work." Artists of all kind receives royalties on type of licensing fees IRL.

FYI when it comes to royalties you have ALWAYS had a choice: If you think the royalties are too high, don't buy the NFT. LMAO? Like nobody is forcing you to buy them. Idk why buying them but evading the contract the creators wrote in is now the new way to voice your distaste.

@kylienft Less then what's currently the norm does not equate to as little as possible. The sky is the limit for what you can make as an artist in this space, I just think you shouldn't be making it from something you've already sold.

@StannisW So the goal is to find artists who are willing to accept as little money as possible for their work?

@kylienft If the only way you're incentivized to be creative and produce continual success is to demand 5-10 % of secondary sales of something that you no longer own, I'm very certain that there's plenty of other artists and creatives ready to fill that void once you step down.

@StannisW You don't have to mint NFTs on a chain with smart contracts! Cardano has NFTs without smart contracts! You can participate in that way! If you want your chain to be devoid of creativity and incentives for creators to produce continual success, legit look no further than CNFTs.

@kylienft It's the only way to participate. We're in the first inning of a new technology that will be a big part of the future, and by participating and chosing to do your secondary sales where royalties can't be enforced, you're sending a clear message on what should be acceptable.

@StannisW Why buy something with a predatory contract in the first place? Why enter into a contract you dont agree with for something fully optional? If NFTs become an unavoidable part of daily life it will be interesting to revisit this.

@kylienft But people are buying the movie? It's just that when they want to resell something that's theirs, they do it in a place where the predatory contract can't be enforced. Artists are still getting paid, they just can't get greedy.

@StannisW This is like saying "we live in a world where buying a movie costs too much so we should just pirate it!"

@JaakoNFA I haven't seen anyone saying artists don't deserve to get paid, the question is more if they deserve to get paid for something after they've already sold it.

The current debate is *checks notes* Whether artists should get paid?

@EMoneyMoves Are you sure these numbers are still accurate? Earning 6 % from fees when everyone is trading 12 SOL shoes is a lot more lucrative than when they're 3 SOL. Prices crashing means that their earnings are crashing. They realize this, which is why they're conserving their capital.

Why am I bullish on STEPN? Company is crushing it. $3-5 million in net profit per day. More volume than magic eden and opensea. The majority of all swaps on Orca, one of the largest DEXs in the solana ecosystem, are currently from STEPN's in app trades. Huge brand partnerships.

There is a lot of fear and panic going on in Crypto in general right now. Rightfully so, this is looking like a crypto winter. Everyone knows I am super bullish on @Stepnofficial as a company, their mission, etc...I am also a realist. This thread will get real.

@ktrainUSA_STEPN The value of literally everything in the game is going down the drain, but rest assured, they're in complete control. Come on now.

People keep talking about all these “fixes” for stepn. The team could literally onboard 20k users a day if they started marketing. Imagine if they had a booth at 100 sporting events per week. It might cost them what? $500k? They are in complete control right now.

@mrjasonchoi Agreed, unfortunately the CAC is paid by the vast majority of their userbase who bought in for thousands of dollars when floor was 12+ SOL. STEPN has a (bright?) future, but a lot of people are getting financially burned along the way. Would be nice if we could do better.

@StannisW I think equilibrium will be much lower than that (1/100th or 1/1000th) - can consider current rewards as an expensive CAC to get eyeballs. If bullish on StepN thesis should be that walkers are relative inelastic to size of reward

@Krit_STEPN Burning in itself doesn't make price appreciate, there needs to be people interested in actually holding the token, but everyone just wants to earn and dump it. So why would it go anything but down?

@StannisW Yeah yeah. Still 7 burning usecases to be released for $GMT. But $GMT won't rise massively without upwards trend on markets. I don't worry for that, it just takes time. But people don't like to wait.

1️⃣ The price of $GST doesn't matter as it is a utility token. You earn it to level up & upgrade, not to ROI 2️⃣ $GMT is the monetary asset 3️⃣ You won't ROI short-term 4️⃣ STEPN is a long-term project 5️⃣ Understand that. If you don't, leave the project before $GST falls even lower
