The is panel discussed tips and resources to help students meet education, career, and BPC goals. They shared their personal stories of their education and their career journeys, as well as opportunities for students to to participate in research or find internships.

Tya Barnes, Program Director at Temple University & Christina Hudson, Phd Student at Temple University, discuss in their session: “Mindful CS: Africology Computing Research” a interdisciplinary course that aims to bridge the gap between AI and African American History

Khalid Braswell, Lead User Researcher at Chik-fil-A, sat down with Jamie Payton, Dean of Ying Wu College of Computing and Director of STARS, to discuss her notable career journey as an award-winning technologist.

Susan Fisk, Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminology led the session: “Critical Participatory Action Research in STARS: Advancing No Research on Us Without Us!” where the panel dug into data collection methods to show the efficacy of STARS.

Wanda Eugene, Co-Founder & CEO of Deep Designs led the session: Student-Driven Entrepreneurship: How Your Perspective & Creativity Can Make Big Impact. She delves into the question: How can I turn this project into something that can fund my future? #starscelebration2024
