The prosecution lined up credible witnesses, the defense didn’t even have an expert. AND…. Karmelo didn’t take the stand. Both sides presented their arguments and the jury decided guilty. I INITIALLY thought he may have been surrounded and attacked, testimony contradicted my assumption. His ACTIONS led to a death, do I think it was pre meditated? No. He may get a light sentence or beat it on appeal based on jury selection or the last minute switch up of charges. Either way, I think the best we can do is teach our young people avoidance, de escalation and conflict resolution NOW. Your knowledge base, online posts and actions impact your actual life. In all fairness, yes.. A black teen did stab me in the face in predominantly black high school in Philly. Our violence was personal however… Our school didn’t have to worry about school shooters. Violence is violence. I’m amazed at how many “we’re all Americans” folks are so focused on race lately. The propaganda machine has shifted its focus to give low IQ white Americans their George Floyd moment it appears. Same as the low IQ blacks a few years back.
