Stalking is a serious crime that devastates lives. Tackling violence against women and girls is my top priority as Solicitor General and I will continue to work with the @CPSUK on implementing their Stalking Action Plan to deliver better support and outcomes for victims.

Today, I have announced £5 million of funding for the @CPSUK to support victims of domestic abuse in the Crown Court. Victims will be offered a pre trial meeting with the prosecution. This will provide them with better support and ensure their voice is heard.

I welcome investment in tagging and Probation. For many victims, knowing an offender is monitored provides vital reassurance - but only if the tag is fitted, monitored and breaches are acted upon. Otherwise, we risk creating a false sense of security. 🔗theguardian.com/society/2026/m…
