Then I read about an incident in the UK that shook me. In early 2026, the police used Microsoftโs Copilot AI tool to draft an official report.
The AI didnโt just make a small mistake it inserted false information that didnโt exist in the verified facts. Because of that AI-generated inaccuracy, a group of Maccabi Tel Aviv football fans was wrongly banned from attending a match in Birmingham. The police had to issue a public apology, suspend the AI tool, and launch a full review.
