BMW M2 Competition, F87. Powered by the S55, no questions about performance here. What makes this car special is the gearbox. A modern M car with a manual, something that’s already disappearing. Newer Competition models don’t even offer it anymore. That’s how quickly things changed. The F87 sits right in between eras. Modern enough to be fast and usable. Look at those dials, speedometer, tachometer, they look amazing. Old enough to still feel like a proper BMW. Better interior, better proportions and a design that still looks right compared to what came after. One of the last chances to get a real manual M car.

Your circle is either your power or your poison, choose them wisely.

@denkmit Extremely valid point, Simon. The athletes can always choose not to race, they truly hold all the power. I was too young to witness it but Agostini & others did it for Isle of Man, Niki Lauda tried to do it at Nurburgring, etc. I trust the riders to speak up if it gets too bad.

Something to bear in mind: the safety team who passed this track as fit for purpose are the same people who will be signing off the Adelaide street circuit as safe
