Single-player systems can be “fun once” but MMO systems have to survive repetition, optimization, and boredom. Every time I design something, I’m try to ask myself: “What does this feel like the 10th time, 20th time, 100th time?” It's very stressful 😭😭 #gamedev #indiedev

The world I've created for SYSMUD is vast, and has it's origin in a #dungeonsanddragons campaign I ran a year ago. 50+ Hand Crafted Cities, make up the continent, and so many undiscovered secrets that never saw the light of day during the campaign. Maybe they will in SYSMUD...

Whenever I have a little QoL idea I always work it in. How about a little mini-world map on the character creation screen which gives the user some insight into where in the world each race is from. Small things make big worlds! #gamedev #indiegame #mmo #rpg #gamedevelopment

In SYSMUD, no matter how you move, WASD, arrow keys, or click-to-move; the arrow key UI animates in the correct direction. Even click-on-canvas movement is recognized and reflected in the controls. I'm happy with this for a browser based game. Small touch, big feel. #gamedev

A couple people have asked; SYSMUD is being developed as a Browser Based MMO-Lite RPG experience. This presents a host of challenges that I could get around if I decided to develop natively, but I genuinely want people to be able to open a browser tab anywhere and boot up SYSMUD

Slight redesign of the Character Select screen, I expanded acnt functionality to support multiple characters for one email since adding races with unique bonuses, players might want to roll another character. New character select is nice & more visual. #gamedev #gamedevelopment

List view was prior, 3 character images horizontal is the newer. Once I add character representations I'll include that swell so each character will look different. Placeholders atm.
