Forget about oil and natural gas prices.
I spoke with a friend at the United Nations World Food Programme, and he is desperate. Funding has been drastically cut and food prices have skyrocketed, limiting the ability of NGOs to help malnourished populations.
We are talking about a death toll comparable to that of the Second World War, or a tripling of food insecurity-related deaths by 2027.
