If this is the Lamine Yamal we are getting for the remaining Atlético Madrid trilogy, everybody is in for a big treat. This guy is making every defender in front of him look silly. He was continuously picking the right passes, threading the needle and putting it on a plate for his teammates. This is what a pure footballer does, leaving a massive footprint on the game even without being on the score sheet. Simply the best in the world 💫

Apart from Raphinha's unfortunate injury, it's nice to see other players being used reasonably by their national teams and returning to the club healthy after the international break. However, one player who’s in a slightly different situation is Lewandowski. Right after playing both the World Cup playoff qualifier semi-final and final for 90 minutes each, he now faces 4 big games in the span of 10 days. To prevent Lewandowski’s body from breaking down, it would probably make the most sense for Flick to have him handle the three matches vs Atlético Madrid and start Ferran for the home game vs Espanyol. Even though Ferran is in poor form at the moment, Barca just can't risk overplaying Lewandowski. Certain adjustments will need to be made, even if they're far from ideal. This next week and a half will be full of challenges, and to think that a 37-year-old Lewandowski is still this indispensable to the team is just insane. The longevity this man continues to show is something no Barca fan should take for granted.

This might rattle a lot of people, but Jadon Sancho could be a “hear me out” type of LW signing for Barcelona. He is set to become a free agent this summer, unless Manchester United decides to trigger the additional year in his contract, which seems very unlikely at the moment. He obviously wouldn't be anyone's top-choice reinforcement. But with Barcelona's financial situation still uncertain and their priorities being a CF and CB, Sancho could be a relatively cheap solution if they decide not to proceed with the Rashford deal. All of this obviously assumes that Sancho is willing to take a huge pay cut. Even though Sancho has been underwhelming at Aston Villa this season, Barcelona could be the place that brings the best out of him. Just like how Antony has revived his career moving to La Liga, I believe Sancho's playstyle would also fit Spanish football really well. La Liga would be a much better platform for him to showcase his technical ability. Sancho is an elite tight-space operator and would play his best football in a possession-based side like Barcelona. With Balde and potentially Cancelo next to him, he'd also have the freedom to drift inside and out. Moreover, Sancho can operate on both flanks, is capable of making a difference on big UCL nights, and is still only 26 years old. Sancho's career is on a downward trajectory, and if Barcelona offers him the chance, this could be something he simply can't pass up, even if it means making a big financial sacrifice.

45 minutes of sheer brilliance from Fermin Lopez last night. He looked so potent between the lines and was creating danger non-stop throughout the second half. He was blowing past defenders with ease through his quick turns and bursts. It's truly remarkable to see Fermin's progression with the national team. From barely making the squad and warming the bench at Euro 2024 to now establishing himself as a valuable player for the NT. In contrast to the last Euros, he’s for sure going to play a significant role in this World Cup, and he thoroughly deserves it for the improvement he’s made over the last two years.

Some light cardio for Lamine Yamal today and he looked a step above everyone as usual. From his masterful playmaking and passing to his dribbling, he just makes the game look so effortless. Everything this kid touches turns to gold. He put on a show for the fans and came off the pitch injury-free. That’s all we can ask for.

Despite it being only a few games, it was awesome to see Xavi Espart earn his debut and make an impact for the first team. That said, with Kounde and Balde back, and Eric García thoroughly rested, he'll very likely not receive any significant minutes after the international break. It's all understandable, but I hope Flick will at least keep him in the first team and give him some scrap minutes here and there in games they wrap up early. At this stage, the best way to manage his situation is to have him stay with the first team while letting him play in Barça Atlètic's matches. This will ensure he's completely comfortable with the senior squad's dynamics by the time preseason starts next season.

Remains to be seen whether Barca will have the financial freedom and if they can actually reach an agreement with Inter Milan for Bastoni in the summer. And if they do, I hope this doesn’t mean Barca will just pass up on Senesi without even trying. Senesi is just too good of a market opportunity to miss out on. PL-proven, an Argentina NT squad player, accustomed to playing in a high-pressing team, and still only 29 if he arrives in summer. He’s not perfect, but it’s not every day you can find a tremendous ball-playing centre back like him for free in the market. And when we take into account the success Flick had with Iñigo Martínez, Senesi, who shares similar traits, would be a no-brainer low-risk signing. We’ve seen how much free-agent signings have helped Barca in recent years. Just because Barca will be in a better financial position doesn’t mean they should stop making smart operations. With Christensen and Araújo’s futures up in the air this summer, Senesi would be a great addition, even purely for squad depth.

Watching Rashford run over pacey players like Valverde and Araújo like it was nothing last night was something incredible. It was also a nice way of showing people he hasn't lost a single step. This man is still the human freak train in transitions. He smells blood whenever he sees large space to drive into. But beyond the verticality he brings, for him to have a successful run next month, Barcelona needs a Rashford that’s overflowing with confidence, one who recognizes he has the ability to single-handedly change the course of the game. He needs to get his shots off more often and tighten up his dribbling in tight areas. His time has come, and he needs to stand tall and show the world.

Lovely little display from Lamine Yamal today. He gave fans glimpses of brilliance without overexerting his body. Kid was clearly playing in a low gear and cruising through the game as he should. Glad the boys got through the game without any injuries. That's definitely the biggest relief for Barca fans after what happened to Raphinha.

Seriously can't imagine where Barca would be if they had loaned Bernal out in the winter transfer window. I'm glad both the club and Bernal decided to stick it out and trust the process. Frenkie's unexpected injury obviously opened the door for Bernal, giving him a huge role over the past month. But it was still up to Bernal to rise to the occasion and perform under immense pressure, and the kid absolutely nailed it. He used this perfect opportunity to show the world exactly what he's made of. He will most likely take a step back once Frenkie is back and fully fit. But that's actually a good thing, since ideally he shouldn't be playing heavy minutes twice a week in the first place. Make no mistake, though, he will remain an important player for the team going forward and give Flick the flexibility to rotate the midfield between him, Pedri, and Frenkie when needed.

It’s still crazy seeing how Frenkie de Jong was hitting outrageous shots like this (with his weak foot too) back in his youth days. Sadly, he just doesn't seem to have a strong desire to take advantage of this gifted ability in actual matches. He could've been such a deadly scorer from distance if he actually put his mind to it. This is unfortunately still an area he’s yet to tap into when we are discussing his true potential as a ball-striker. Clips from @Cabazaya on X and YouTube

To think that after all this time waiting, Barca's midfield depth may finally materialize at the tail end of this season really gets me a bit emotional. With Frenkie expected to return not long after the international break, having all the midfielders available at the same time may no longer be just a dream. Imagine a midfield rotation of Pedri – Frenkie – Bernal – Gavi – Fermin – Olmo. When everyone is healthy and clicking, this midfield depth is something other clubs can only dream of. Gavi is obviously still a long way from being ready for high-intensity games. But just thinking about the quality and potential of this midfield in the future should get every Barca fan pumped. First and foremost, we need all the players to stay healthy during this international break.

Despite only getting minimal minutes yesterday, I actually feel like Rashford looked really convincing out there and played like he has something to prove. He was incredibly active and really the only one trying to make something happen in the final minutes of the game. He was exploiting the large space in behind and taking on players whenever he got the chance to do so. Let’s hope Rashford can get some valuable minutes with the England NT during this international window, so he can come back to the team in better condition and prepare himself for the remainder of the season. Bear in mind, he’s still an extremely useful weapon off the bench and for rotation for the squad.

Calling this a hard-fought victory feels like an understatement. There's no way Barça would come out of this one alive without Joan García. He's making big save after big save while visibly dealing with discomfort at the same time. Taking him off as a precaution sounded good, until we saw what happened in the second half. This man was the glue that held the team together until the very end. What a great way to introduce himself before joining the national team! 🧤🔥

@MwanaMooze Consistent game time shouldn’t be something we need to worry about for him at the moment, with all the minutes he's been getting in this run.

It’s great seeing Bernal step up massively and has been such an important piece for the team last month. But this boy has already started 7 games in a row and has racked up nearly 500 minutes in the last 30 days. Crazy to even think about it, but he's played more official match minutes in the last 30 days than he had all season up to that point. On top of all that, he's just been called up to Spain's U21 national team. He won't get any rest during the international break and will play in Euro U21 qualification games instead. Feel like it’s in everyone’s interest not to start him in tomorrow’s match, or at the very least pull him out the game as soon as the result is settled. Barca can’t afford to overload his body and get him sidelined again. He’s too important for them.

3 consecutive appearances for Xavi Espart and he’s played exactly like he belongs at this level of competition. This next match against Rayo Vallecano at home will be another perfect opportunity for him to start. I'm confident he will make the most of it and impress Flick once again. I honestly believe we would've seen him getting featured a lot earlier if he hadn't suffered that knee injury in November. Really glad that injury didn't block his path to the first team this season, and he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream and help the team out when the opportunity arose.
