Look for grants write the cost of presenting your work into the grants up front-you should be paid for your time & expertise! @VAGeogAlliance always supports educators in this way & @NewAmericanHist is always looking for curriculum writers-use our stipend for conferences! #sschat

A4 In my current role @newamericanhist I am fully funded as presenting at conferences across the country is written into my job description, but as a classroom teacher, I was lucky to be part of the @VAGeogAlliance and wrote NatGeo grants to $$ presenting our collab. #sschat

A4: Some conferences provide discounts for presenters. School/district PD monies help. Connect with a vendor and have them pay #sschat

A4 lucky enough to be attending #NCSS2023 for the 1st time due to district funding. Travel costs was a major barrier for me in the past #sschat

@kcgilman While it can be costly, there are some serious savings here. One of our co-chairs seeks out the hostels and has not had a bad experience. #sschat
