a heartbreaking way to end the season, lost ourselves somewhere along the way to the major and couldn't pick ourselves back up.
Also disappointed the way I ended the year, couldn't find the reasons as to why I have such lows from time to time.
I would spiral down a big rabbit hole of negative thoughts and lose all confidence in my abilities. Without fixing this problem, there is no bright future for me in a competitive environment.
The more this year went, the more support I felt, but with a lot of support, comes a lot of hate. There would be times where I would actively try not to look at a camera or pull a funny face. What really was pissing me off was people calling me out for being fake, but me not looking at the camera or joking around is me being fake. So I guess they were right.
Remember to believe in yourself and follow your vision, there will be a lot of people who doubt you, but don't be one of them.
Thank you all for making this year the best year of my life, there is more to come in the next year. โค๏ธ
.@CounterStrikeโs community is just insane.
Over the last 25 years, weโve always been the โunwantedโ child of @valvesoftware. Valveโs latest release, Deadlock, fully proves this point.
โThe shooter with TERRORISTS & CTsโ isnโt a marketing cash cow for companies. Governments, brands, and even our parents are still looking at our beloved game with disgust in 2024.
โCS could harm our imageโฆ theyโre shooting with gunsโฆ kids will become terrorists for sureโฆโ I think we can all agree that weโve heard it all before.
Thatโs probably why Valve itself doesnโt put that much effort into Counter-Strike anymore. โOn paper,โ it just shoudln't work in 2024.
But hell yeah, it still works. If we look at every other title, we probably have by far the best esports circuit out there. The game itself has been updated and maintained almost entirely by the community over the last 25 years.
Leagues, tournaments, maps, game modes, skinsโnearly 99% of the custom content in the game is hand-built out of pure love for it.
Just look at what the community has created. Weโre pulling the best numbers on Twitch, with hundreds of tournaments happening simultaneously every day. The community has made the impossible possible: keeping a game alive and relevant, even without major updates. ESL, BLASTโฆ these are now esports empires.
When I look back at what weโve achieved by believing in our dreams since CSโs release, I couldnโt be prouder.
Beyond the core structure of cs:
We, as the community, built this game.
We overcame being the unwanted child.
We made our own history and shaped our destiny.
And honestly, I think this is just the beginning.
And if you care, @valvesoftware, get your ass back to work and take a lesson from what this community has done for you.
