Our refreshed plan is a strategic document that sets out the vision and objectives of the Thames Chase Trust over the next 10 years (2025-2035) for the benefit of people, nature, and climate. Thames Chase Trust recently collaborated with @Brentwood_BC to fund a tree planting project within Bishop Hall Park through the UK Government's Trees for Climate scheme. As part of this project, Thames Chase Trust and Brentwood Borough Council organised a community planting day at Bishops Hall Park to help plant these 936 trees. This project is designed to improve the biodiversity of the park by adding 12 different species of trees that are perfect for bird nests, and invertebrates. With a team of very keen volunteers and some very windy weather, we were able to plant 300 trees to start this planting off, it was a wonderful day, thank you to everyone involved it was great to get so many young saplings into the ground and we are looking forward to sharing further updates on this new woodland. It's UK Compost Week! Finished compost, almost like gold for the aspiring gardener, or in our case, our tree nursery team! Providing a great boost of carbon, nitrogen and other essential minerals for plant growth, compost also adds structure and water storage capacity to the soil.
