I run an audit firm. Here are 6 red flags that should make you walk away from any smart contract auditor:
🚩 No named auditors — if the proposal has a logo and a price but no names, who's actually reading your code?
🚩 "3 days, no problem" — a proper audit takes 1-2 weeks minimum. What happens in 3 days is someone runs tools, pastes the output into a PDF, and calls it a report. That's not an audit. That's a receipt.
🚩 No sample reports — "we can't share that for confidentiality reasons." Every serious firm can produce redacted samples. If they won't show their work, they're not confident in it.
🚩 No fix verification — they find a critical vulnerability, you fix it, and nobody checks if your fix actually works. That's like a doctor diagnosing a broken leg and leaving before the cast is on.
🚩 "Our AI agent audits your code" — AI is useful. We use it. But AI cannot understand YOUR business logic. AI-assisted? Great. AI-only? A false sense of security with a nice PDF attached.
🚩 The black box — you hand over the code, silence for 3 weeks, then a PDF arrives. If they didn't ask a single question, they didn't understand your system.
