@lilbadsnacks Because it IS a second class citizen. Its an accompaniment to singing or dialogue. I say this as a producer. Club music and classical are pretty much the only exception and that's because they're experiential.

re: knxwledge, I just wish ppl valued instrumental music the way they value music w vocals/lyrics. I still can’t really wrap my head around why instrumental music/production is often treated like a second class citizen as if it’s not the backbone of everything we listen to ?

growing up in texas : people going out of their way to ban abortion but not lifting one finger to make sure innocent kids can feel safe in a learning environment. i’m so sorry to the families who had precious lives stolen from them and i hope the gov we ‘trust’ puts an end to it.

@goodkarmadao I don’t think there is a one size fits all. Different artists need different levels of involvement from a label. The one consistent necessity of almost all artists however is the freedom and time to develop and naturally evolve without the fear of being dropped.
