@ACWAPower Magnesium concentration in seawater is highest from targeted elements and extraction more economically feasible. Technologies for extraction of Uranium, Lithium, Bromine, etc. from seawater are available but need further development.

Thomas Altmann, Vice President of Water Technology and Innovation at #ACWAPower, gave a presentation about “Seawater Mining: Production of Magnesium from Seawater” at the IDA R&D Workshop in Jubail, KSA. The presentation fell in line with the emerging topic of brine valorization.
