Headteachers like Zoe at Hereford Learning Hub value the Thrive Wellbeing Leadership Apprenticeship for developing new skills, strengthening teams, and embedding Thrive expertise in their setting. Just months in, Zoe has noticed a real change in her colleague Toni: "I’ve noticed Toni’s confidence grow since starting - it’s been a pleasure to see her develop her strengths. The apprenticeship has been pivotal for us and central to developing the culture of our setting." “To other employers considering a Thrive apprenticeship, I’d say it’s absolutely necessary.” Following the recent Level 5 Operational Manager defunding announcements, one of the most accessible, funded routes into senior leadership development is being removed. Remaining available places for our May 2026 cohort have been capped, and applications are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're an employer considering enrolling a colleague on a Thrive Apprenticeship pathway or a learner considering applying, read Zoe’s full perspective eu1.hubs.ly/H0sPdhX0 #Apprenticeships #SkillsSector #FELeadership

Did you have a role model growing up who felt relatable? Someone who looked like you, shared your background, or showed you what was possible? When children see people like them achieving and contributing, their sense of possibility expands. Our next Inclusive Principle, Celebrating Identity, Story and Place, asks us to think differently. Children’s identities, cultures and communities are not barriers to overcome. They are strengths to recognise and celebrate. So what does that look like in practice? It means creating spaces where pupils see their cultures and communities reflected in the curriculum. It means having open conversations about families, neighbourhoods and backgrounds. It means highlighting role models and success stories from the communities around us. Because when children feel proud of who they are and where they come from, they are more likely to feel they belong. In this video, Sarah Browne explores how schools can create environments where identity, heritage and individual success are recognised and celebrated. Leadership and management apprenticeship defunding has now been confirmed following the government’s review. If you’re a current or aspiring leader planning your next step, or a senior leader reviewing how you will develop your workforce, this change matters. Two Thrive Apprenticeship pathways expected to be affected are: • Thrive Wellbeing Leadership Apprenticeship (Level 5) • Thrive Advanced Practitioner Leadership Apprenticeship Both programmes combine practical SEMH expertise with a nationally recognised Level 5 Operations Manager qualification, helping schools strengthen leadership while embedding a whole-school approach to wellbeing. £9,000 of funded training is currently available. Applications are open for our May 2026 intake, and demand is expected to increase following these announcements. If you’ve been considering this route, now is the time to explore it before any changes take effect. Read the blog to understand what’s changing and what it could mean for your school. eu1.hubs.ly/H0sHrPK0
