We’ve all got issues with the front three but I’m not sure what else Arteta was supposed to do tonight. They are fit - so they play. Havertz/Trossard are probably in the frame for Sunday, and he shouldn’t be starting Dowman (as exciting as he is). They need to improve and make it work.

@YankeeGunner Why should we be scared of them? That cup final really shook us to the core! Are we only top of the league because they had a dip in form? Are we only in the CL because of the favourable draw? It’s a huge concern.

Well we avoided another meeting with city at wembley with the CL and PL potentially still hanging in the balance. I’m taking that as a silver lining. Why not 🤷‍♂️

@YankeeGunner Yes to a premier league top half side. Not against a championship side. You have to remember how deep our squad is. Those players on paper should win that game.

Can I accept being knocked out of the FA cup with a rotated side & bigger trophies to prioritize? Yes. Have I felt for a long while that we haven’t been able to produce consistently excellent performances? Also yes. Until we start playing better, it’s hard not to be concerned.

@clivepafc @timstillman_ @afcjxmes Like you both, I was there and the biggest difference was that the 15 mins at the start of second half where the killed us was the small passes in the box to create chances. Bernardo, Cherki especially. They are still the masters of opening up the oppo.

@timstillman_ @afcjxmes Down side of not having Raya is he sees pressing shapes and can play through…add to that we had not attacking mids but a second striker playing there…we were doomed in hindsight

What yesterday showed was that, without Odegaard in particular, technical level not high enough at Arsenal. (Missing Odegaard, Eze and Merino for the same position proved to be a bridge too far too). History tells us Arteta sees issues and, if anything, over corrects in the market. Strongly suspect technique on the ball in small spaces will be a very big priority in the summer.
