I agree with all of this BTW. I think the majority of people who want the picks to practice fall into two camps: 1. Media who want pictures and clips of them. 2. Fans who just want to see the guys moving so they can get excited.

I think it’s very silly to get mad about the draft class not participating in the rookie camp. The mental task is way more important right now anyways. These two days are far more about the UDFAs and Try Out guys. I think any anger is performative tbh.

I don’t think Saleh’s justification is illogical by any means. It makes sense. I also know that at least some of the veterans would tell you this approach is wack. Somebody once told me that rookie minicamp is supposed to make you wonder if you actually want to be in the NFL!

Saleh said call it a scar: he was on the staff that saw 3rd overall pick Dante Fowler tear his ACL on the first day of Jaguars rookie minicamp. His justification for not making his draft picks work is that they’ve been under a lot of stress away from football work this spring, and their bodies aren’t ready to dive back in yet.
