@jamesxwilkinson @ronmanagernottm Yeah, like I said, back then the bodywork was the limiting factor. I had a mate who’s dad did bodywork repairs and welded etc. He kept loads of old motors on the road using the “Trigger’s broom” philosophy 😂

@TonyPOCTesting @ronmanagernottm Dad was an engineer and did stuff like changing a clutch in the garage. What couldn't he fix? Rust, which consigned at least 3 mechanically sound cars to the scrapyard.

@bagshaw2112 Our local sweet shop would break a pack of No6 and sell you 5 in a paper bag for 10p back in the 70s. Totally targeted school kids. Seemed ok back then 😂

@acnewsitics @RichardBowler1 Actual goal was distraction from Epstein files and a crafty way to make money by manipulating oil prices IMO

The new goal of the war now seems to be opening the Strait of Hormuz, which was open before the war began Crazy, right?

@ClassicAdvertz 3M Scotch VHS tapes. I worked for their Healthcare division in the early 90s and these ads were still broadcast then.

@SheilaHarries @ronmanagernottm I have a 10 year old Hyundai i30 and the front lights are remarkably accessible but the rear light cluster is a bit of a Krypton Factor test. I refuse to pay for fitting if I can. Useful tips are available on YouTube but also some poor advice.

Imagine this being your “entertainment”, excusing abject cruelty as tradition or culture, and crying because “oh woe is me this is my social life, ripping wildlife to shreds with dogs brings people together”. Bunch of CU’s. GET THE BAN DONE NOW.

@ReformSecYork @ronmanagernottm Yeah there was an attitude then that as long as the bodywork was ok or fixable then a recon engine was always an option. I doubt that happens much now. Every car owner had some rudimentary skills for car maintenance back in the 60s/70s

@TonyPOCTesting @ronmanagernottm Totally agree. Imagine if the same approach was used but with better materials and techniques. That would be a better approach to sustainable transport.

@ronmanagernottm And when you went to buy parts you dealt with someone who knew what they were talking about. Not a software program that asks for your number plate then suggests the wrong parts

@Carsofglasgow1 I drove a Ka of that vintage for a year or so about 15 years ago. It was actually quite a fun drive and amazingly versatile, I managed to carry quite a lot of stuff around. Donated it to a mate’s daughter as a 1st car & she loved it

I spotted this video of a Ford KA in the USA. So many questions however it appears to fit right in.

Another London name origin - Knightrider Street EC4 (No - not that one!) was originally spelled Knyghtriderstrete. In 1322, it was the street Knights leaving the Tower of London would use when heading towards Smithfield (or Smoothfield) for jousting tournaments… #London #History
