The President’s threat that “a whole civilization will die tonight” cannot be excused away as an attempt to gain leverage in negotiations with Iran. This type of rhetoric is an affront to the ideals our nation has sought to uphold and promote around the world for nearly 250 years. It undermines our long-standing role as a global beacon of freedom and directly endangers Americans both abroad and at home. The oppressive, terror-spreading regime of the Islamic Republic must be distinguished from the people and the civilization of Iran. Everyone involved—especially the President and Iran’s leaders—must de-escalate their unprecedented saber-rattling before it is too late.

We have a lot ahead of us in 2026. Taking Greenland shouldn’t be on that list. Instead, we should continue building relationships—through trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and indigenous governance—rather than sending provocative messages that undo decades of trust.

The citizens of Greenland are not slaves. China again doubled down on solar in the first half of 2025, adding in 6 months more than America has built in its entire history. They're literally growing at a rate of 2 United States a year. Which raises an interesting question for the many people out there who, like Trump, believe that "renewables are a joke" and "green energy is a scam". Year after year, China is doubling down on renewables, now reaching investment levels of an unimaginable scale, investing far more than the rest of the world combined. China isn't exactly "woke" or known as bleeding heart liberals. They're more famous as the world's most hardheaded economic planners. If they're going all-in on renewables at this scale, investing in it like it's the winning bet of the century, maybe it's worth wondering if maybe the "joke" won't end up being on the ones laughing.
