What the victim can and should counterargue is that when he went to investigate he believed the thieves posed a real and imminent threat and he stood his ground.

The OJ trial reaction shows that the concepts that we have of justice and empathy are not universal. That all ethnic groups don’t share the same fundamental core values, and instead see the world only as us versus them. It’s right in front of us, and noticing that isn’t being “racist.” The actual racism is the people that see the murder of someone of another race and rejoice when the killer goes free because the killer happens to be the same race as they are.

@MJTruthUltra She is correct. A detached garage is not considered a part of the home. Castle Doctrine allows reasonable force to defend against an intruder without a duty to retreat. It typically covers the home and its attached structures. But not every state has Castle Doctrine.

😡 83-year-old retired kindergarten teacher Eleanor Doney was peacefully raking leaves in front of her Pickering home. A 14-year-old boy walked up, chatted with her for two minutes… then pulled a knife from his briefcase and stabbed her in the neck. She staggered, tried to run to her house. He chased her down and stabbed her in the back, neck, and REPEATEDLY in the face. 8 stab wounds total. She was left twitching on the sidewalk. Court heard he had an “urge to kill,” was obsessed with serial killers, psychopathy, and stabbing techniques. Suspended from school the day before for bringing a knife. He just pleaded guilty to 1st-degree murder. But because he’s a “youth,” his name is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act… and the Crown & defence are jointly asking for the maximum sentence of just 10 years. An 83-year-old grandmother slaughtered in cold blood on her own lawn… and this is “justice”? This is why Canadians are terrified in their own neighbourhoods.
