Confirming my decision to cancel the @washingtonpost. Bezos isn’t capable of objective coverage of gov’t while simultaneously sucking up to it in hopes of winning multi-billion dollar contracts.

Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory. No nation has bigger opportunities. Wishing @realDonaldTrump all success in leading and uniting the America we all love.

Donald Trump doesn’t believe a word of this.
Bill Ackman@BillAckman

I believe that @realDonaldTrump will win in a decisive victory and potentially a landslide Electoral College outcome tomorrow. I could of course be totally wrong, but that helps elevate an important point. Approximately half the country will be unhappy about the election outcome, potentially devastatingly so. In this context, I think it is important to remember that we are one country, and we will survive whoever is our next president. What we must avoid, however, is a world where our fellow citizens who are disappointed raise hell or otherwise revolt about the outcome. The peaceful transfer of power is a critical feature of our democracy that must be maintained for us to succeed. The system is stronger than any one candidate. We will thrive long term no matter the outcome of this election because the system will heal itself. That’s been a feature of our democracy for nearly 250 years and I expect it to continue. Let’s therefore be civil and accept the collective will of our democratic process. We have many enemies that want internecine battles in America to weaken us. We cannot let this happen. The world is a dangerous place and we need to be unified to protect our country and our children.

Kamala Harris leads the early returns in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Here's why that's bad news for Kamala Harris.

@Brandi_Buchman I dissent. It does not take any courage to support the women in the family. It is normal and to be expected.

CNN is reporting that the viral fake video of "Haitian" men voting multiple times for Harris Georgia was shared after @AussieCossack (Simeon Boikov), a frequent @SputnikInt guest, paid a right-wing influencer $100. Boikov's account was just suspended. cnn.com/2024/11/04/pol…

@foolintheforest Pulling the voting booth lever sounds like democracy in the same way that Bazooka bubble gum smells like childhood.

When I was a kid, I’d go with my mom to vote in the old booths with the curtain. And help her pull that big giant handle and hear the resounding ka-chunk! as the vote registered and the curtain opened. I miss those old voting booths.

Tonight: If you hear any newscaster call this race "historic" then change the channel or go for a walk. All presidential races are historic. It means that the newscaster is just killing time and has nothing new to add.

This is literally what happened. The heart was on its way for its intended patient and mid flight they decided the intended patient could not use the heart I was Plan B. But if I had had a late lunch, I would’ve been in eligible. amazing luck

@Ursulaok @simonmontefiore As a general rule of thumb, a head of state should not visit a disaster area while rescue is in progress because that person consumes valuable resources with their protection. Such visits should generally occur during the recovery phase. Not rescue.

The monarchy’s credibility issues are serious, and the delayed response in this crisis only made things worse. King Felipe, as a military officer and head of state, could and should have acted faster. Showing up five days after the disaster fell flat—if he’d arrived right away, in military uniform and with a shovel in hand, working alongside the Spanish army, it would have sent a really strong message of unity and action. Sadly, the political battles between Spain’s autonomous communities have become a harmful trap, leaving regular citizens to suffer in emergencies. This slow, disjointed response highlights a system that puts politics before people, failing to deliver the quick, coordinated help that Spaniards deserve.

A class in why the familial power of monarchy endures and works. It was fascinating to see the regal dignity personal courage & admirable grace under pressure of Felipe VI King of Spain visiting the enraged heartbroken people of Valencia …while the head of government Sanchez fled ignobly. Character is all
