The subtle insults of wanting to box Yoruba people into a particular skin colour. The subtle insults of deliberately stereotyping Yoruba people for an agenda. The subtle insult she passed that the only reason why Ondo people are lightskinned is because of mixing with SS people (most SS people are darkskinned).
She came here to throw jibes at Yoruba people. I saw right through her, exposed her, and she insulted me immediately.

I schooled in Onitsha High School, Onitsha. One morning, the principal Mrs Julie Ofoefuna informed us that Mr Peter Obi was coming to our school because the Senior Prefect called him and reported that the school building was at the verge of collapse which was true. We thought it was a joke because my school was one of the local schools then, we said” the governor has not finished visiting CKC, DMGS, St Charles, QRC”etc these are best schools then.
By 12:00pm that day, he landed with Dr Kay Onyechi the state commissioner of basic education, he inspected the school. He said he will return after two weeks. Two weeks passed we didn’t see him, we took his words as normal Nigeria politicians 😭😭😂.On the third week which was school closing period, he landed. He came like a thief, no motorcades or sirens blowing ” he apologized for coming after two weeks, he said when he learnt that the school was in exam period, he decided to wait but to come after exam. In the end, he gave more than enough for the school renovation. He asked us what we wanted for lunch, nobody could mention any reasonable food. He gave each student ₦100 for snacks.

As a governor of Anambra, every senior prefect in the state had a direct contact with Governor Peter Obi. Why? He wanted them to report what was wrong in their schools directly to him, if you call him, he would personally come and check it out. The man’s humility and simplicity is not performative. It’s really somehow that over a decade later he comes out to contest elections in the country and you’re seeing videos of him carrying his bags like he has always done and you’re calling it “performative and theatrics”. He’s not even doing it for you to applaud him. Baba is just being him.

There is no single Southwest state that’s under any security threat and if that doesn’t tell you about the quality of education, leadership and tolerance in these states, I don’t know what you want to hear again. These are also states that are economically prosperous and it has nothing to do with the fact that the President is from that region. It has relatively been like this for a long time.
Other regions need to learn something from this.

There has not been any large scale attack in the SW since the Owo incident. There are cases of kidnappings (like some parts of🇳🇬).

I have lost 3k followers because I said what if Odunlade Adekola picks up APC form and wants to contest that will you people hail him the same way you are hailing Zubby who picked up ADC form and wants to contest.
I don’t even belong to a political party, but some of you are already saying I’m supporting Tinubu and APC. But for me in 2027 elections, I will vote names and character and not party. If someone in APC is better, I will vote for that person, on another position if the person in PDP is the best I will vote for that person and if it’s someone in ADC that’s better I will vote for the person and i won’t explain to anyone why I voted for anyone.
So let 2027 be about you, if APC had been bad, vote them out, if they have been good to you vote them in. If the messiah that will save your state is from ADC or PDP or even LP or NNPP please vote for them. Vote for what benefits you and your family. Don’t let anyone gaslight you.

You see why it's good to fight negative stereotypes. Some weeks ago, when my younger brother travelled to Ondo state for work, he called my parents to ask them if majority of the people in Ondo state are mixed with ibo cos all the people he has been seeing from the streets to the office are very light skinned. We now had to explain that some Yoruba states have predominantly light skinned people

This is, quite frankly, one of the most egregious falsehoods I’ve come across. Even when my school fees at OAU was as low as 28,500 between 2019 and 2022, there were still many students who struggled to afford it and we had to crowdfund for them.
It would do you some good to step outside your bubble and engage with the realities people actually face.
