Today, I visited @HopingYork with @RachaelMaskell and Cllr Michael Pavlovic. Their volunteers serve over 100 people every Sunday to York’s homeless and most vulnerable. I am deeply inspired by them. I will do everything I can to support this Government in combatting poverty.

A really big day for York and North Yorkshire as I got to announce the first four funds we have created to help tackle some of the major issues in our region. £27.5 million will be allocated to - 🏪Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund £10 million 🌿Carbon Negative Challenge Fund £10 million 📈Business Innovation Fund £5 million 👩‍💻Skills Innovation Fund £2.5 million I also announced additional funding to deliver more housing via our Brownfield Housing Fund, bringing the number of new homes being built to 977, over half of these are affordable.
