I literally have no idea why people are so against Mat Sadler, I think he would be better than Nolan and right now that's what we need #NTFC

Incredible atmosphere from Crystal Palace in Italy tonight. 😮 No other team in England creates an atmosphere like this, fair play to them! 👏

Tough for a chairman when their club has just been relegated, because they can't always air their dirty laundry on what's gone wrong before they've dealt with the issues in-house - it's a tricky balancing act. At the same time, I feel like this was a bit too close to the more conservative end of the spectrum. To only write 5 paragraphs, and 2 of them are praising the fans for going to Luton which... I mean fair play but come on, it's one of the shortest away trips of the season, you can be in bed by 11. Feels like a slight cop-out. Even if you can't answer the big questions there and then, at least offer some kind of reassurance that they will get answered as best you can. The fact that Kelvin Thomas didn't explicitly apologize or take responsibility for the board's role in this season - other than vaguely say lessons will be learnt - suggests a hint of easy acceptance, because of the financial disparity. That would be partially fair, and I can see that there are major sustainability issues across that division, with inflation driving costs up and up. Lots of owners across the board seem to be becoming disillusioned, and I'm led to believe there's a few at this level that may be low-key looking to sell. So, I can see why Thomas might feel a bit indignant about taking criticism for this season, and would see it more as the board deserving credit for delivering three consecutive seasons at this season. On the other side of the conversation, when you've been relegated with four games to spare - even factoring in significant budgetary limitations - results dictate that there are things you could have done differently, and that fans will want to know what went wrong. Some good work has been going on at Northampton. The East Stand is looking lovely. The club seems to have controlled it's footballing spend much better than they did in the mid/late 2010s. And six of the last 10 seasons have seen them in League One, rather than League Two. But for them to achieve their long-term target of becoming a stable League One club, there's also facets that need to evolve, and that has to be taken seriously. Fairly or otherwise, Thomas' statement will come across as an attempt to half-gloss over that, until and unless he offers fans greater transparency, and a platform to ask the big questions. #NTFC 👞

🙏 Chairman Kelvin Thomas has thanked supporters and says the club's focus moves to trying to return to League One as soon as possible. #ShoeArmy 👞 ntfc.co.uk/news/2026/apri…

It was a tale of two cities and two very different football grounds for an @FCBarcelona fan who turned up at the wrong St James Park last night 🏟️ The Spanish supporter, who made the journey to Devon from London, turned up at the turnstiles of Exeter City’s Adam Stansfield stand last night, expecting to see his team take on @NUFC. It was only when he showed his ticket to staff that he realised his mistake. But he got to see a got to see a game of football – Exeter City staff sorted him out a ticket for the game against Lincoln under the lights of the real St James Park! Adam Spencer, Supporter Experience Officer at Exeter City, said: “One of our volunteers came to the office to let us know that this guy had turned up expecting to see FC Barcelona. His English wasn’t great, but from what we could gather, he’d come from London. My guess is he’d put St James Park in his phone and then just followed the directions from there. “He was pretty gutted and a bit embarrassed. So, we sorted him out a ticket and he got to watch a game at the real St James Park. He’d be welcome back any time.” #ECFC #SemperFidelis
