That’s not an accurate representation of socialism. The accurate representation would be the bottom one labeled capitalism, because the ones who control the party or government take everything for themselves and leave the crumbs for the workers. Now, ask yourself how Elon created thousands of new millionaires last week.

To be so super clear, USAID was giving food to starving Africans, mostly children. Elon cutting USAID will cause 2 million deaths by malnutrition alone by 2030. That’s why he’s saying this.

@PastorMikeStone @SenWarren She is not asking the rich to donate all their wealth. She is asking the rich including herself to pay a small 2% wealth tax. A 2% wealth tax won’t even slow down the wealthy from getting much richer.

If @SenWarren shared her $67M and lived on the $285K (itself a great salary) every public school teacher in her state could receive a $900 bonus and she would still make more than 3x the average salary of those teachers. #YouGoFirstSenator

@ItsLulu_7 Actually, contrary to popular belief the rich don’t have to steal the money from the poor as they willingly give it to them. As consumers (the poor) often pay producers (the rich or entrepreneurs) for stuff.

@DavidJHarrisJr Although this sounds like a great idea, it’s not going to go anywhere. Mostly because the Democratic Party can’t let their former selected VP get taken down like this. These people will protect their own and then quietly put them out to the pasture.

@KhanSaba1278 That's mostly because in most states there are more people seeking houses than available housing. Mostly due to zoning laws which address, environmental protections, parks, and wildlife preserves, and rich assholes not wanting their views cluttered by the plebes.

There is not a single state in America where a full-time minimum wage job covers a two-bedroom apartment. Not one. That's not an opinion. That's from the National Low Income Housing Coalition's annual Out of Reach report. And the numbers behind that headline are staggering. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. The housing wage needed to afford a modest two-bedroom apartment nationally is $33.63 an hour. That's more than four times the federal minimum wage. To put it another way, a minimum wage worker would need to work 116 hours a week to afford that apartment. There are only 168 hours in a week total. That leaves 52 hours for sleeping, eating, and everything else that makes up a human life. And it gets worse depending on where you live. In California you need $49.61 an hour. Massachusetts $45.90. Even in West Virginia, the most affordable state on the list, you need $18.49 an hour. The federal minimum wage doesn't clear that bar anywhere. Here's the part that doesn't get talked about enough. This isn't just a minimum wage problem. Nearly half of all U.S. renter households are cost burdened, spending more than 30% of their income on housing. Of the 25 most common jobs in America, 18 of them pay median wages that fall below the two-bedroom housing wage. Those 18 occupations employ 74 million people. Nearly half the entire U.S. workforce. This is a middle class problem as much as it's a minimum wage problem. I grew up watching a parent struggle financially. I know what it feels like when the math just doesn't work no matter how hard you try. The gap between wages and housing costs in this country has reached a point where working harder isn't enough to close it for tens of millions of people. That's the part that should make everyone uncomfortable.
